I received my Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B. V. Sc & A. H.) from the College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Mathura, India in 2004. Then, I did my Masters in Epidemiology and Preventive Veterinary Medicine at the College of Veterinary and Animal Science, Bikaner, India in 2007 under the mentorship of Dr. R. K. Tanwar. My dissertation topic was “Survey of Brucellosis, IBR, PPR and Gastrointestinal Helminthosis in Cattle and Buffalo in and around Bikaner.”

I thenI worked as a Senior Research Fellow in an Indian Council of Agricultural Research funded project on “Development of Polymerase Chain Reaction for specific detection of Mycoplasma agalactiae and study of its Molecular Epidemiology in small ruminants”.

Presently, I am working as a Graduate Research Assistant with Dr. Shigetoshi Eda on immunological reactions of cattle against surface molecules of Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis, the causative agent of Johne’s disease in livestock and wild animals. I will also be working on developing a “next generation” diagnostic test for animal and human infectious diseases.

My long-term goal is to peruse academic and research career in the field of Immunology and Animal Disease Diagnosis. In my free time, I like playing cricket and watching Bollywood (Indian) movies.
