
This image depicts our Gelfish model which is composed of ballistic gelatin designed to mimic the firmness of fish tissue. Gelfish also contains an embedded accelerometer to quantify the amount of force transferred to a fish's body when impacted by hydropower turbine blades. This image represents the first generation of Gelfish technology. I am leading its continued development with help from experts at the Manufacturing Demonstration Facility at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
